A Typical School Day
Our working day is packed with a rich variety of different activities, each chosen for the value it adds to the education of the children. We have committed significant time in the curriculum to the activities and pursuits that do so much to develop the widest possible range of skills and behaviours in the children – vital if we are to achieve our aim of developing character and achievement in equal measure.
Each pupil has a personalised timetable of studies and activities. Pupils register each morning with their personal tutor who ensures that they are ready to start their working day. The first of eight 50-minute timetabled sessions follows soon afterwards. After two lessons, there is a pastoral period which from Monday to Friday includes a celebration assembly, a service in the school chapel and three focused personal tutor times (PTT). Each of these sessions plays an important role in shaping the ethos and character of the school and ensuring that there is time for a high level of personal attention to the needs of each and every individual.
